Nothing new -sort of

So no new items. The garden and the picture above have kept me busy. I now have two Californian does and I am borrowing a Californian buck.  Hopefully in a few months I will have baby bunnies for sale (either for pets or meat.) The two above are mother/daugher and like to be together. I hope to get one more California or a Satin doe and eventually a New Zealand buck.
Still have a few whistles left, hopefully this Sunday I can get a bunch of woodturning completed.
Will have Bok Choy, Japanese Sweet Potatoes and some mizuna at Farmer's Market tomorrow.

New item - Old fashioned whistles!

I finally got the whistles done.  These are just the beginning. They are $5 each.  The whistle is maple and for now the 'flipple' is either walnut, cherry or birch. The flipple is the piece inside that actually helps make the whistle work.  They are colored and then buffed with carnuba wax for a slight shine and food safe protection.  A couple of the ones picture are already gone but I will be make more after this weekend.
Great old fashioned game stocking stuffers.

Demo day

Today I was doing a demo at Boonville Days at the Brazos Center.  It was a little quiet but I got some tops and honey dippers done so that is always a plus.  I also made my first whistle this morning before heading out.  It works so look to some whistles posted soon. I hope to work on some Sunday along with some new jewelry.

More mills and a demo

A few more peppermills that I finished this week.I have also done a few mesquite pens as well.
Production has been slow due to being at my brother's wedding last weekend.  Should be picking up now. There are tons of rough turned cottonwood bowls to finish and I am thinking about trying to make whistles. What do you think? Just simple one note ones.
I will be doing a demo Saturday Oct 7th at the Brazos Center for Boonville days.  I will also have my woodturnings and ceramics for sale as well.
Stop by and say hi. I will be making tops and honey dippers.
Some items in the next few weeks: new bottle stoppers, bowls.  Hopefully if I have time I will try the whistles and I have had a request for salt boxes.  I also want to work on the jewlery some more.
